Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
Franklin Scientific offers various types of maintenance support including preventive maintenance, annual calibration, corrective repairs and help desk support.
Robust scheduled maintenance is the foundation for achieving high operational availability. Scheduled maintenance includes activities like lubrication, calibration, performance checks, and visual inspections and adjustments. When possible, we suggest instrumentation calibration be verified using a separate set of NIST traceable reference instruments connected to test ports in the system. Allowing multi-point accuracy verification over the sensor’s operating range to be conducted without removing the sensor from the system. If the sensor’s performance exceeds the specification, it's then removed and sent out for repair and/or calibration. This method reduces calibration costs, the amount of spare instrumentation required or equipment downtime, and reduces the risk of damage during removal and shipping to the calibration lab.
Help-desk support service is available for receiving calls when equipment discrepancies arise. Voicemail will be available for calls received after business hours allowing customers to leave a message detailing the problem. Help desk calls received will be logged and assistance provided to equipment operators to resolve discrepancies. If the discrepancy cannot be remedied over the phone, a trouble ticket will be opened, and plans made for corrective repairs at the site.
Emergency corrective maintenance can be contracted on an as needed basis. All corrective maintenance repairs will be documented in a Contractor Field Service Report (CFSR) and inspected / tested using commercial manuals or Technical Orders to verify the equipment is fully operational.
